Liliana Alvarado Flórez is a Geologist, Master, and expert in Mining Economics with over 12 years of experience leading international cooperation and sustainable development programs in Colombia’s mining and productive sectors. She specializes in socio-economic and environmental impact assessments, with a strong focus on corporate social responsibility (CSR), community empowerment, and inclusive territorial development. Her work bridges the private sector, international organizations, and local communities to promote equity, sustainability, and culturally sensitive solutions.
She has a proven track record in designing and implementing gender and social inclusion frameworks, conducting capacity-building initiatives, and evaluating complex projects. At UNDP (planetGOLD Colombia), she served as National Project Manager, leading initiatives to eliminate mercury in artisanal mining and advancing gender- responsive policies in the mining and energy sectors. At Chemonics International Inc., under USAID’s framework, she currently serves as Deputy Chief of Party, where she leads gender equality and social inclusion strategies tailored to diverse regional contexts, ensuring alignment with U.S. Government policies and local community needs.
With strong skills in navigating Colombia’s social, cultural, and institutional landscape, Liliana has worked across regions such as La Guajira, Chocó, Antioquia, and Southern Bolívar.
